Stay

Stay

A Poem by The Adventure
"

27 January 2016

"
Feet are planted, but always twitching,
Longing, but not breathing in
Now scents to please appease me
Profound meaning, always ceasing to stay,
Going away

Took a swig of whiskey to "soothe a cough"
Irish roots proud of me
Indian blood condemns me, lost in thought
Next the rum as chaser to melt away
Leaving at the break of day.

Putting off my inevitable, ain't nothing gonna help it
Trusting placement, complacent, content self embarrassment.
I'll leave at break of day. Any day.
I can't stay...
Just staying today
