The Little World of Lies

The light shone bright in her lonely

little room that contained her whole

world amidst the scattered ruins

of half-written lines and bitter

lies to herself while the shadows slowly

stole secrets she sought to keep from

her own mind by purging her withered

soul of the life she once had led.
