Disillusioned

Disillusioned

A Poem by LoneStranger

The earth is full of disillusioned youth

thinking they have a point to prove

but with nowhere to go

and nothing for them to do.

Their guiding stars are hidden

behind layers of their ancestors’ breath

and the yellow brick road was paved

over with landfills of wasted age.

So instead of moving forward

along a path created from a past existence

some take to the sky like birds

with shut eyes and mouths in their passing

until they are only surrounded by starlight

while the rest sink

downing beneath waves of imposed “reality”.

The graves of their mass suicide

becoming the foundation for future

generations.
