DrowningA Poem by LoneStrangerThis poem is another one from my short, ten poem collection titled "Fantasy."Your kiss pulls me down, down into this deep ocean full of my secrets and
regrets. I flounder above the waves flailing, treading, but soon I grow weary with nothing to hold on to except water and air. They’re no longer useful to survive. My lungs fail. My limbs
weaken. The pressure builds around
me as I quickly sink, trapped by feet encased in shame. My ears rupture and bleed, calling all the sharks to
feast, and the bubbles trap my
scream. If I cease to struggle I will freeze. Frozen heart, frozen lips. All because of your kiss. © 2012 LoneStranger |
