Sadness Within

Sadness Within

A Poem by Sarah Al Janabi
"

Not a poem really... More of a thought

"
I trip and fall into my own consciousness.
A place sometimes so dark there seems to be no exit. Pinned down by sadness. Choking on fear. Drowning in doubts and uncertanities. Trying to resurface. Trying to inhale some light. Some happiness. A minuscule ray of joy would suffice.

This has becomr so rare. Rarer than rubies, saphire, gold. More precious than diamond. How to brighten my soul now? How to rise again after falling for the upteenth time? My soul is dissolving in this sea of despair. My spirit is fading in this sky of challenges. Battles, fights, never ending disputes. My mind split into a thousand pieces. Shattered. A war within me. A bloody battle. A battle that can only be won with swords of euphoria.

I really love this piece. Its probably because I can relate. The truth is that when your in a war with your own mind there can never really be a winner. When you feel like you have won, another maelstrom of emotions presents itself. Speaking of, I love how you described so many emotions mixing together to fuel the war. Job well done.
