RemnantA Poem by Sarah HawkinsonI've always wanted to believe in ghosts, even as a child, and my logical brain would never allow me. I wish one day to be proved wrong.I imagined a figure in my doorway Wishing for her to be true Sensing a story Something untold Something forgotten. I remember the night I explored their territory Possessive, wanting Wanting them to reveal what has never been proved. Cold, touch, scratch I felt it all within a second But forgot almost instantly. I dreamt that night She visited In my door, I saw Her hair a shadow Translucent Invisible Never heard, never seen I spoke out to her, What is your story? She turned And never returned I woke that morning, Remembering that I do not believe. © 2011 Sarah HawkinsonFeatured Review
