Sound of the Wind Chime

Sound of the Wind Chime

A Poem by Sarah Hawkinson

Grandma's.
Held the sound of the wind chime.
Always blowing, the wind serenaded us.
Always a gift, the box contained one
of every size, color, and tune.
Always I wanted, to smash the ceramic things,
    into shattered notes.
The wind does not seem to blow anymore,
Without the music.

I'm a huge fan of yours from your youtube to your writing. I'm an aspiring writer and I've fallen in love with poetry over the past couple of years..I love how short this poem is but the diction and imagery choice is very strong but yet the poem sounds so peaceful; I love that contrast! Beautiful peace :)
