Glass

Glass

A Poem by Sarah

Could you see it in her eyes?
A glassy reflection
Where pain and sorrow could hide
Society's rejection

But the distance apart
Slowly started to crumble
And her shadow stretched out far
As she began to stumble

She tried to find you
You watched her fade
And alone she stood
Day after day

The glass was broken
Beneath her feet

& you stepped toward her in pain.

Your hand falls through her skin
So cold, so thin
And you grasp her stone cold heart
As it slowly shatters apart

The pieces mend the glass below
A pathway at your feet
She watches you walk steadily away
Her heart without a beat.

Alright, it means, the glass you here talking of is your fleecy "heart" and the things that paining you real hard is the "memories" of love beats that got ya lost or swung in ecstasy, once, a long ago with love. What a beautiful and heartfelt poetry you damn digged in words. Kinda interesting that how one loves and how the same loves breaks the spirit - shatters every things apart in half - in pieces, with time. Nice shot! Would be looking forward to reading whatcha bring next!
