How You Feel When You Want To Feel Nothing

How You Feel When You Want To Feel Nothing

A Poem by Sarah

You found her sitting at the curb
Barefoot, hair tangled, face in her palms
She looked up slowly, the scene is blurred
With make up smeared and smudged lip balm

She smiled, not showing her teeth
Asked how you'd been and would you like a drink?
You shook your head and said sorry
You had to be home, it was late you think

Gently, slowly, wobbly
She stood and stands and stands and there she stood
With her eyes dried out
Her fingers shook

And all she wanted to say
was
f**k you
f**k you
f**k you

With her back turned
F**k you

Fingers in her hair, still shaking
F**k you

And the tears poured out, each drop hitting the pavement
echoing:

F**k you
You
Only you

But when she turned back
You in her breath
You had gone
Away
Again

And she falls
In love
Again.

Emotional moments mean unstructured poems with the word "fuck" used probably much more than needed.

I get the feeling, going through a "f**k you" phase myself at the moment.
"She stood and stands and stands and there she stood" - I especially liked this line.
