Holly

Holly

A Poem by Sarah

She was beautiful,

With glass stuck in her heart
And poison in her lungs
And nightmares in her eyes
And numbness in her tongue
With hammers in her skull
And tears drowned in her throat
And evil on her lips
And blood under her clothes
With deceit in her veins
And nails bashed in her bones
And sorrow in her mind
And prayers turned to stone

She was beautiful.
