Halloween and Surprises

This chapter talks about the day that I took J.C.'s birthday presents to him...as well as how he surprised me in the continued aftermath of our break-up.

Halloween ended up being the day that I got to take his presents to him (and repossess my DVD). I went over after getting out of class, intending to just leave the bag containing the presents on the floor by the bed (he was asleep at the time) and be on my way. However, he surprised me by saying that I didn't have to leave yet, and the two of us hung out for a couple of hours.

 

The surprises continued. He would text me once or twice a week and invite me to come over and hang out with him--sometimes before school, sometimes while I was on breaks in between classes, and sometimes after school. There were still a couple of times when I made the first move and asked him if I could come over, but for the most part, he was the one taking care of that. As you can probably imagine, this made me really happy...especially since I got to see him two days before my birthday and received a Facebook wall post and a text message from him on my birthday (November 11).
