After All is Said and Done

Now please, get off of my mind.

If I were to look back, years from now,

my time with you would be a microscopic pinpoint of brilliant light, 

blazing red-hot as hell fire around the edges

with a glorious, soft, bright center-- which nobody will ever see but you and I.

After time, you won't see it any more

the little dot will be overshadowed by rich explosions of color all around.

But no matter what, that bit of our history will be on my heart, for better or for worse.
