Do You See Me?

Do You See Me?

A Poem by Sarah Wood

Do you see me?

When you talk to me do you realize the effect you have on me?

My breath halts and my heart goes crazy

The sight of your short wavy hair

You seem fictional but you stand in front of me

If I talk you don’t listen

You move to the next girl when I am next to you

I am always available but you never are

Your cologne smells different whenever I pass

The way you look so horrible one day and then handsome

You turn everyone’s head when you walk

My knees fall weak when you touch my shoulder

Your eyes put mine into a trance that I can’t get out of

We are so much alike that it’s keeping us apart

I cry to you in my dreams but you can never tell

You’re my secret I can never tell

You stole my heart but you still don’t know

Butterflies are still there even after a year

You’re so cruel but I can see passed it

I want to hold you in my arms but I’m too scared

How long can I feel this way until I am broken?

Who will be there once you have gone to pick up the missing pieces?

Can you maybe feel the same as me?

I beg of you to give me a chance

You are the guy for me I know it, I believe it

Just trust me I am pleading

I will deny everything if you object

I will lie because I have nothing else

Do you still not see me?
