Insomniatic Nights

Insomniatic Nights

A Poem by Isabelle Grace

I’m awake when I should be sleeping.

A beautiful mess, lipstick stains,

A cup of tea and shattered hopes.

I float away on a cloud of dreams,

Only to fall back downward.

My thoughts are far, wandering,

Pondering and lovely.

I am here or there,

Somewhere between.

Everything’s addicting,

I am flying.

Somewhere near or far,

Perfect or destroyed.

And in the meantime,

I fall asleep

On my

Insomniatic

Nights.
