In Between

In Between

A Poem by Isabelle Grace

My life’s in black and white.

No gray, no in between.

I am one or the other,

An undecided storm.

Either I rain, or I pour.

I am sunshine, or gloomy.

I have diamonds in my eyes,

That glitter in the moonlight.

I am strong, fearless.

Or soft, a sweet pale pink

I am a radio, a wavering static

My thoughts in waves,

That come out jumbled and choppy.

I am a skyscraper city,

Tall and often mistaken for dark,

But truly beautiful and poetic.

I am not the person I dream to be.

But I believe she is real.

Undecided and crazy.

A hopeful mess I am.

I am free, flying as I truly am.

Whether that be black white or gray…

I’ll never understand.
