Coincidence? I think not

Coincidence? I think not

A Chapter by lovebug

“Hey Lana, what's up” I asked, trying to sound as cheerful as possible.

“What's wrong?” Her voice was full of concern; I bit my lips, trying hard not to cry as the tears started pouring down my cheeks.

“Nothing, just tell me what up”.  It was dead silent, at first I thought she hung up but then I starting hearing a muffled sound that came from the background, it sounded like someone was crying.  I forgot about telling her that I was moving, all that was on my mind was trying to figure out what was wrong.

   "Lana, what’s wrong?" I asked.

The muffled sound transformed into a full blown wail, this was one of the rare times Lana cried, and it made my heart speed up a bit. "LANA, WHATS WRONG!" I shouted, feeling a bit impatient and very concerned.
The last time she cried like that, I was injured and in the hospital, so what could have happened to make her cry like this? Did someone die, I started crying with her as I thought of Mike or Johnny getting hurt, what if it was the both of them. My eyes widened as I whimpered like a child about to have a break down, "is everyone okay?" I asked.

"Yeah", she said, it’s just J-Johnny s-said that we were ..." She didn't finish her sentence; instead she started crying all over again. I tried to stay calm, knowing all she needed was to get this out of her system but damn was this torture.
After a couple seconds, she started speaking again,"J-Johnny says were moving away... from here”.

“What?” I said, shocked, “Your little brother told you that, my uncle told me that”.

I didn’t understand what was happening, this couldn’t just be a strange and weird coincidence. How in the world was this possible, Lana and me moving away from here, being told this on the same day. My eyes widened, "did Ramie and Mike plan this?" I whispered

"What but why, I mean I know their best friends and everything but why in the world would they want us to move... together. I mean I'm happy that I won’t be separated from you but it’s hard to understand?" She asked, her voice strained

“I don't know why Lana but I plan to find out”. I could almost see her nodding and finally I was starting to calm down. We weren't going to be separated; we were both going through the same thing.

“Oh my god" she gasp, "that's where were going, were going to your house right now Suki!"

I almost fell off my bed when she told me that. Was Ramie planning to make us move today? But why so early, why couldn’t we wait a couple of months, I mean did he even know where we were going to stay? As I continued thinking, I heard teeth chattering on something and I knew Lana was biting her nails.

“Girl calm down and get your nails out of your mouth”.

“I’m nervous Suki, this calms me down”, she squeaked.

"I know Lana, I said sympathizing with her, "and don't worry, I'm coming downstairs right now and demanding an explanation".

  “Good because we’re already here".

And with that, we closed our phones. I ran downstairs, “Ramie”, I screamed when I saw him. "I need to ask you something important and their here” I said, almost in a whisper, remembering our fight.

He looked at me his eyes in pain, “I know”.

Suddenly a wave of understanding crashed through me, he also didn’t want to leave. Suddenly I wanted to hug him; I smiled, looking at every aspect of him. I noticed the way his brown hair was shaggy, the way it usually is when he was stress. I also noticed how his dark brown eyes twinkled with disappointment and how his biceps flexed as he heard the door bell ringing. I laughed silently; he was probably a ladies’ man that guy.
As Ramie opened the door, I realized we were really doing this, and I got upset all over again, even though I knew I had no right. As they stepped in, the realization hit me even harder as I saw Ramie with both his and mine suitcase in his hands.  And Mike also had his, and Lana; I couldn't stop my heart from beating faster.

“Get in the car Suki, Lana; I have a talk with Mr. Houston about something”.

“Whatever”, I muttered, and took Lana hands in mines as we opened the door and walked to the car. As we arrived and looked at Mike’s navy blue Toyota, we opened the door and jumped up, a nervous giggle escaping my mouth.
I looked at them trying to figure out what they were talking about.

“What do you think their talking about?” Lana asked curiously and I couldn't help but laughed, it never ceased to amaze me how we thought the same things at the same time.

“What else”, I said, "the community”.
