Life is hard, I have a deep connection with sadness. Sometimes you must let go of the constant need to battle everything that attacks. A smile is like a rainbow, brightest after a storm.

We are creatures of love
wanting to feel felt
wanting to be kissed
wanting to feel bliss
wanting to be wanted
Loving to want.
DESIRE
We are creatures of manipulation
twisting and turning for our self benefit
twisting words to be heard as we say
twisting the line of right and wrong
twisting others thoughts to think like ours

Manipulating to satisfy our stories twist.

UNDERSTAND

We are creatures of abuse

torturing ourselves to feel pain
torturing others to see pity
torturing anyone who cares so they run
torturing to be tortured

abusing a cycle of masochistic torture.

HURT

We love because we want to be desired.
We manipulate because we want to be understood.
We abuse because we want to hurt.

this is a very interesting poem.. much deeper than I think it may at first seem.. you make several very profound statements throughout.. on the one hand, you write like a little girl hurt and lost.. and on the other with a more mature, insightful and confident tone.... I like the wisdom and thoughtfulness. It's seems like what you are saying (nicely by the way), is that people are pretty much the same all over. I agree!
