Heather watched David’s phone ring for the second time this time David, at least, put it on silent.

“So, how far did you get through the play?”

“The play? Oh, right page four.” David asked looking up from his phone.

“Okay, how about we switch over to math. I can’t help you if you haven’t read anything.” Heather said as she put away her English notebook and pulled out her math one. She stopped when she noticed that David hadn’t moved to take out his math book.

Heather shook her head as David suddenly grabbed his phone as it beeped signaling he’d received a text message.

David opened his phone and hungrily read the text message. When he finish he sighed and tossed it down.

Heather laughed, finally catching David’s attention.

“Is it a girl? I’ve never seen a boy so interested in his phone unless it was a girl.” Heather said closing her book.

“You could say that.” David said with a half smile, technically Kimberly was the problem.

“We’re obviously not getting any work done.” Heather slides David’s laptop toward her.

David smirked “I guess you’re right, sorry.”

David stared out into space as Heather surfed the net.

“So, you going to tell me about her or are you going to keep me in suspense?” Heather said after a long pause, she was watching David from the corner of her eye.

“It doesn’t matter we broke up. So there’s really nothing to say.”

“Hmp, there’s always something to say.” Hether said knowingly.

“Not this time, there isn’t.” David looked at his hands, he had a dark look in his eye.

“My god David your in love.” Heather said teasing.

“What?” David said looking up. “Where did that come from?”

“Trust me, I’ve been through and seen enough break-ups to recognize that look.” Heather said pointing at his face.

“What look?” David looked skeptically at Heather.

“The ‘I hate her, but I hate myself more cause I’ve already forgiven her’ look.” Heather said with a knowing nod, “and I also know that nothing I say is going to change your mind one way or another. Eventually, your either going to answer the phone, bump into her on the bus, walk up to her door or what ever it is you want to do. Or your not.”

“I’m not.” David said with a short nod. Heather rose an eyebrow as David’s phone vibrated again.

Very quite, Heather heard David’s foot tapping against the ground. Suddenly without any further warning David grabbed his phone, gave Heather a sheepish smile and walked out.

Heather shook her head and checked her watch. She opened up David’s laptop and opened up the media player she had a few hours to kill she might as well finish the movie she’d been watching. She took out her dvd but stopped when she realized David’s computer already had something in dvd drive.

Heather looked for David but he’d already gone outside and was in the middle of a phone call. Shrugging her shoulders Heather pressed play.
