yo le cuidaré de

yo le cuidaré de

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz

if i could touch you (softly)
and with that touch, dismiss your pain...
i would never stop touching you
[my fingers like rain]

if i could whisper in your ear
sweet words that could instill
confidence and joy
(my darling boy)
i would...
whisper forever
[my breath like air]

if i could wash away your worries
with the surface of my hands
i would place my palm (this gentle balm)
upon your heart...
and we would breathe together /
your concerns would leave forever.

if i could alter your world
with the fading of the light
i would will away the sun
and bring you the soft security
of night

alas, i am capable
of nothing more than
to care

with time, my dearest,
the sun will no longer represent
[despair]
but will wash you with tenderness
like the rain
and the air

This piece has a really sexy/maternal thing about it.
While generally I think that parentheses and brackets tend to be distracting, the use of them in this piece, they don't seem to be "asides", but instead hint at a change in the tone of voice -- they are almost whispers. I'd love to hear this read aloud.

"if i could alter your world
with the fading of the light
i would will away the sun
and bring you the soft security
of night"
Ooh, this is just lovely -- I feel your desire to hold a body, curled up safely and cozily, and making the world go away, if for only a while.
Gorgeous piece. Gives me shivers -- and hits close to home.
Thanks for sharing!

Your use of the elements is beyond words...after the first two stanza i had to stop go back and read again cause I couldn't believe just how amazing they were... it is like looking at he Grand Canyon at how deep the beauty goes... then the whole poem together is so passionate that I must say I am once again in awe of your true talent. Another favorite of mine.

It sure is a real heartfelt writing you got there. It actually made me feel all relaxed as I was reading along. I even enjoyed how you've used some words between the lines such as (softly) [my fingers like rain] (my darling boy) [my breath like air] (this gentle balm) and [despair] They really got my attention

So, it's all great here...

What a wonderfully sweet piece of encouragement!
It's uplifting to a spirit that may feel down. Reading this is like wrapping up in a warm blanket on a cold damp evening. You paint beautiful pictures of love and care for the heart to see.
Thanks for sharing.

This poem caught my attention because the titlke is in spanish, I presume. Lovely poem, although I didn't quite like thr "my darling boy" phrase, because that sort of generalization seems above your writing.

Absolutely beautiful, and a wonderful wish...not a man alive (short of the soulless) who wouldn't love to hear someone special wish the same for them...very nice work...

This is beautiful. I like the title (although you don't need the "de" at the end...sorry, spanish is my minor).

if i could wash away your worries
with the surface of my hands
i would place my palm (this gentle balm)
upon your heart...

--Definitely my favorite lines. :)

Another favorite...
I can't help but think that, however specific the sentiment, not a man in the world could read this without feeling personally touched.

I cannot choose a favorite line...
each word was chosen too carefully.
