life [in all its shapes and forms]

life [in all its shapes and forms]

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz
"

Versenator's Challenge # 18 : LIFE in all its shapes and forms.

"

life
in the shape
of waves upon the shore;
the curves of the water
on the sand.

life
in the form
of dew upon the leaves;
and the delicate strength
of your hands.

life
in the shape
of morning glory vines;
the clarity of a soft
autumn breeze.

life
in the form
of moss upon the earth;
the breathing of sky
upon seas.

life
in the shape
of secret smiles in the night;
the windswept moments
of our lives.

life
in the form
of an early morning mist;
and happiness as it
softly arrives.

I love the different snapshots you give us of life. The only thing I suggest is that you could pair up the images of nature with abstract statements, such as in the stanza where you juxtapose the dew on a leaf and the strenght of a hand. That really creates contrast. But that's just a suggestion. I love the anaphora of life. Great work.

The rhyming structure is very interesting in this poem. I like it very much, it's rather original. It flows very well and the imagery is beautiful. A successful piece I believe.

graceful and grateful.....

i particularly loved

"the breathing of sky
upon seas."

because i most often think of the sea as a woman or female...so the breath of the sky must be her match made in heaven :)

and of course theres

" the delicate strength
of your hands." The oposite making one Indelible image so true!

lovely.

I don't say this too often, but this was a pretty poem. Calm, easy and relaxing it just makes me want to go outside and noodle around looking at the little things like a twig or the underside of a leaf. Childhood was a lot like this poem. Very nice.

Delicate, soothing, and undeniably beautiful! What a wonderful write, my dear; you have managed to capture the very essence of life, putting in the spotlight all the simple things that make it so wonderful.

life
in the form
of moss upon the earth;
the breathing of sky
upon seas

--love this stanza!

Absolutely beautiful.

It's 65 and sunny (here) as I read this; that, with your verse makes me feel all springtimey and good.

Makes me wanna hug you.
