life [in all its shapes and forms]

life [in all its shapes and forms]

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz
"

Versenator's Challenge # 18 : LIFE in all its shapes and forms.

"

life
in the shape
of waves upon the shore;
the curves of the water
on the sand.

life
in the form
of dew upon the leaves;
and the delicate strength
of your hands.

life
in the shape
of morning glory vines;
the clarity of a soft
autumn breeze.

life
in the form
of moss upon the earth;
the breathing of sky
upon seas.

life
in the shape
of secret smiles in the night;
the windswept moments
of our lives.

life
in the form
of an early morning mist;
and happiness as it
softly arrives.

I love the different snapshots you give us of life. The only thing I suggest is that you could pair up the images of nature with abstract statements, such as in the stanza where you juxtapose the dew on a leaf and the strenght of a hand. That really creates contrast. But that's just a suggestion. I love the anaphora of life. Great work.

Beautifully expresses the complexity and vibrance that is life. May we all wake to such days of life, love, and happiness in abundance thriving all around us. Your words never cease to amaze me.

Simply beautiful just like those little things in life that make it such a great place... like the beauty of trees in autumn time and flowers in spring and then there is the beauty of those people love us that is the true miracle we cherish for a lifetime... You have describe it all so magnificently.

We must not forget the beautiful art you create everyday as you express your breathtaking soul through it.

This was a pretty poem. Dainty. You had some lovely imagery. It was like each seperate stanza was a new photograph you had taken and wished to share with the reader.
Great job.

Reading the reviews took longer than reading the poem. Clearly everyone enjoys your writing as much as I. This poem made me feel like an early morning walk in the woods. I was crippled in an accident 5 months ago and I am just now learning to walk again so this meant a lot to me, THANKS!

Nicely structured poem... it accentuates the content and sound, though some of the last line rhymes are a a bit hard.

Perfect!!! This poem had so much happiness and joy that I was smiling by the time I finished reading this. I loved the simple imagery, it made us focus on your words of appreciating the small things in life instead getting caught in the wording itself. Kara, you have done an amazing job with this challenge. Way to go girlfriend!!!-Catrina

Beautiful Poem! Thanks for sharing. I just wrote a new one called Watching The World Go Down In Flames (Don't get the wrong idea, it's actually an uplifting poem about me not being able to feel for myself and others instead of shutting down like I did so I wouldn't get hurt or wouldn't suffer again). Now I no it's okay to feel and it's good to get involved in the world instead of being an innoncent bystander.

In Love and Peace
