This was amazing. I love how you used the Winnie the Pooh quote. You sent me a comment a while back with another quote, about standing on a bridge and watching the water flow underneath you. It made my think of on Winnie the Pooh when they played "Pooh sticks". Pooh and Piglet threw two sticks into the river on one side of the bridge and ran to the other side to see whose stick made it under first. Me and my little brother James used to play it all the time. I love Winnie the Pooh. Eeyore could be my favorite character ever.
Breathing someone in as they sigh. What a beatuiful thought. That feeling of no matter how thightly you hold somebody, you're never close enough. I love that feeling and hate it.
Oh wow wouldn't I love that feeling......this is beautiful ............you have an amazing way of dripping a beat of your heart into every word of this poem.....completely perfect
wow!no comment on the last comment, other then I guess no one has to like everything which anyones entitled to.I liked this poem by u,also I like poo.I read the "tao of poo"and I liked that book alot as well.Loved how you ended it also.I am slowely becoming sure of you was a great way to end this piece.Good job!thanks for putting it out here for us all to read.
what, in part, gives this poem sucess is your ability to write about an everyday image without loosing originality. I don't understand some of the line breaks, though. They don't seem fully thought out as they interrupt the rhythm of the poem. Also, as I suggested to someone else, practice with more difficult forms, especially those which focus on the stresses of syllables help with rhythm issues tremendously.
Heavy on the "Awww" factor. I love the entire idea behind this piece, and how can you go wrong when you start with that quote? The mix of confidence and vulnerability in this one creates a sweet ache.
Your Pooh comments caught me, so I sat and read. As I did, I saw my own relationship with my wife rekindling, the prose brought forth that desire for me reach out and remember the some of the fire that had faded. Thank you,
Very well done, Bravo
The Tao of Pooh rides again!. Lovely poem. Full of subtle surprise, as the longing for merger seems at first like the intense love and longing of a new relationship, when in fact it's the rekindling, or even the past due kindling, of one well settled and deserving. Great job.
I personally can't stand winnie the pooh, which makes me as charming as an a*****e I know but I do like this poem. I also got the same postcard quote from a poet once which is kind of interesting. WEll, not really but, connecting dots here...
the poem is sweet, thoughtful - I don't know that the [ ] is necessary - if definition is required by the author I would encourage itals.
This poem says so much, I'm at a loss of words. This describes those nights with you so well and be sure I feel the same.
until my lips
-are your lips-
and my skin
-is your skin-
and somehow when you sigh
i softly breathe you in.
Right there is the core of happiness. For me anyhow. To feel like one. :)
for sometimes i lose sight
and vainly try to see.
yet nothing is more clear
than the warmth of your embrace
(the kindness in your eyes)
my faith is overdue....
It helps us appreciate what we have when there is a journey to being sure of someone. We've had some rocky points but the good always gave me faith. I thank you for this, Kara. With words like these....
I am resolved to never be content with the lives of "quiet desperation" which so many of us lead, to continuously challenge myself, and forever walk in Beauty.
I like pandas. I like writing poe.. more..
