pissed off

pissed off

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz

you've taken the angst away.

and i'm a little pissed off.

i was looking forward to tortured
love poetry
dripping from my
crying fingertips.

and now all i have is a hopeful
lilt to my smile
and the occasional blush
to my cheeks.

it's really quite disgusting.

and rather a waste of good heartache…

if you ask me.

I have to smile because I've been there. Reading this kind of makes me want to get back into a relationship, any relationship. Just walk downtown to the nearest bar and take up the first lass with expanding pupils and a downward glance.

For good or ill, therein lies the muse. Good relationships make for healthy writing whereas bad ones let you spit beautiful venom all over your medium. Either way there's chemicals flowing through your fingertips that dry up without an other to stimulate creation.

I'll have to remember to read over this when I'm needlessly annoyed at something.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

WONDERFUL! This is so refreshing and funny and witty. It reminds me of the entire grunge movement, only presented better. :)

Hi Kara:
Nice, little gem of a poem there. I'd eliminate the "if you ask me" line as unnecessary. End it with the "good heartache..."

Some excellent lines in: "dripping from my/crying fingertips" and "and now all i have is a hopeful/lilt to my smile."
