Message to the Sea

Message to the Sea

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz
"

A collaboration with Rock And Roll Cowboy, a dear friend of mine; the female's perspective lines are in blue.

"

To the Sea:

I’m sending out a plea for help

I'm sending out a prayer of safety

Not for me, but the one I lost.
Not for me, but the one I let slip away.

Separated now by this cold, cold war.
Separated now by these cold, distant shores.

My love is frozen in time.

And now I can't melt the distance between us

I’m stranded in a foreign land
He's in unknown places, without the comfort of my hand.

Alone I remain along the isolated shoreline of my heart.

I can only stand here and place my feet along the water's edge

If only I knew she were there, somewhere
And pray he feels me somewhere, here…
Awaiting my arms to pull her into forever
For all I want is to feel forever in his embrace.

Then I’d have the strength to find a way home

Bring him home to me.
For without my soul’s companion
For without him
I have no will to return.

It's just too hard a lesson to learn.

I should have said goodbye.

This is a beautiful collaboration. Liked the way you changed the colors of the text. Super job.

Beautiful collaboration. I wonder how changing the colors of the text might effect that poem. It might be interesting if the first speaker's text were blue, and the second speaker's text were a readable golden yellow. The last line might be a deep green: the visual mixture of the two.

Poem within a poem...clever and an enthralling. The emotion is strong, the intent is clear, and the title alone lulled me in. Great work, you two!!!

Wow, that had me really upset at the end, yet captivated from start to finish.

This is a masterpiece!
I like way it doesn't just go in one direction but turns, crawls, flies, and then stands.
The wordplay, metaphors, and emotion are simply gorgeous.
It didn't really need a picture because you clearly painted one!
I enjoyed reading!
