A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz

i'm wanting something you could never give.

silently whimpering for you to touch me

(already feeling your lips upon my skin)

eyelids shiver shut:

alone.

i can not sleep;

i am re-arranging the world in my mind

moving around the puzzle pieces

to fit.

i feel your fingers through my hair:

alas, you are

not there.

i throw out the extra pieces -

the camouflaged, endless expanses

of trees, or sky, or green.

yet i realize the picture will never be complete

without them.

i could sit here, re-arranging.

yes i could do this forever...

secretly admiring

the way

we fit together.

this isn't about true love

this is about wanting something and the fantasy of control

life puzzle is never complete we can only effect one or two pieces as the rest scramble away...

only the moment of intertwining passion seems real and it ends

life is lived in between those moments

learning to live well in between is an art

snap snap

great write! The concept of the jigsaw to come to the conclusion of trying to see how we can fit together. i liked this one.. it was fun to read.. and the frustration, confusion, and desire were very well portrayed

much love n respect

This is seriously great. It may be small and simple, yet the expression means a whole lot more than that, so it's really great there...

I loved this piece from start to finish! Great job! Very visual, very beautiful, and I just love it! I'm putting this in my favorites, capturing it, so I can read it again and again, just for my very own! :)

the 7th verse was a tad cliched, but damn the ending more than made up for it. Great work here!

Dear Kara this is beautifull, the first line pulls me in
'I'm wanting something you could never give'
and obviously,
'Eyelids shiver shut'
I love that and then the last verse so full of mixed emotions
'Secretly admiring'
The secret admirer, the fun and freedom
believing in dreams cause they are limitless from afar.
And believing that authenticity and creativity can be enough to free yourself
I LOVE THIS
