shattered resolve

shattered resolve

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz
"

"

The dance

by which our fingers

traverse each other's palms.

The iris

of our eyes

[a blossoming psalm].

The silence

by which our words

whisper through like smoke.

The stones

called our hearts

[shivered] and broke.

Funny how when the romantics heart is won, no matter how great the lover, they are still shattered. If not for the drama queen of them all The Human Heart, this poem and it's forty beat per minute pulse would not take us with it, kicking and screaming. Shattered you say, RESOLVE you say, say it again, come on say it again... I dare ya. This poem taunts.

I picture two people, laying in each others arms, deeply in love. Maybe that image wasn't your intent, but it certainly found its way into my head.

Great work.
