shattered resolve

shattered resolve

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz
"

7/10/04

"

The dance

by which our fingers

traverse each other's palms.

The iris

of our eyes

[a blossoming psalm].

The silence

by which our words

whisper through like smoke.

The stones

called our hearts

[shivered] and broke.

Funny how when the romantics heart is won, no matter how great the lover, they are still shattered. If not for the drama queen of them all The Human Heart, this poem and it's forty beat per minute pulse would not take us with it, kicking and screaming. Shattered you say, RESOLVE you say, say it again, come on say it again... I dare ya. This poem taunts.

I came by to see what you have penned ...this title just drew me in

Incredibly unique piece...

" fear and trembling"...the power contained in submissing to love...
is just as the weakness in letting go

Love the form of this...

The dance
the iris
the stone

lovely Kara

Blesssssssssss

You are an artist through & through. Even the format in this piece paints an unmistakable picture of what the poem's voice whispers; emanating twice the impact.

Beautiful ~ shattered resolve...

What seemed so powerful to me about this work was your creative flow which gently forced me to read it at a slower, relaxed pace absorbing the beauty breath by breath. A masterpiece!

Such a sad poem. Short but it says so much. :(

This is nicely presented and speaks a lot in just a few words. It is funny how so much love can be in a heart and then have it leave..I often wonder.."Where did it go?" God bless... Valentine

Memories can really suck sometimes.

You really did a great job of proving how deep the love is by the strength of the first two stanzas, then you did an even better job of showing the "end" of something, and it's not the love. I really really like this piece. Great write.
