duckling dreams: a haiku

duckling dreams: a haiku

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz
"

i have to giggle a little

"
dare i to touch her?
my webbed feet in silent plea,
beg her... to love me.

I have to tell you, the title alone forced me fight back an awww and I'm not the kind of person who says that...but still I trudged on, machete in hand to bridle my emotions...anyway...love this haiku...there is a tender sweetness to this and I didn't feel like saying awww, but now I want a baby duck for a pet. :)

depth and simplicity. I first thought about the cute factor, then saw a second level. Youth with so many fears to overcome. Fear of rejection and fear that our webbed feet aren't good enough.
Thank you for sharing. I need to learn from you to keep things as simple and deep as possible.

This was very good. I like how you used the photo to tell the story, giving the reader a fuller picture of the shyness nof the duck. I also, like the sweeteness and "too cute" feeling this conjures in the reader. I think you did a great job of writing this. This makes me want to resume writing haikus again. Great work.-Catrina

You have to be kidding me, you just love to challenge yourself
A duckling Haiku, I'm smilling just saying it out loud
Once again I was sad, and you have made me smile
Kara, you rock

A great little haiku - even ducklings are scared to make the first love move.

Teenage love in ducks! Fanstasic!

I wouldn't change a thing here.

Perfect.
