Will You Be My Valentine?

Will You Be My Valentine?

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz
"

Not going to win me any awards, but sometimes we need to be silly.

"

Will you share this special day

with me?

This silly, over dramatic day;

This disguised yet disarmingly

tragic day?

Okay,

let's get introductions out of the way.

I'm a Virgo with a tender tendency

to cry.

and a lilt to my smile

that will invite you in,

and a whimsical innocence...

Nah, let's try this again.

I'm a student of psychology,

but there's a million things

so very wrong with me.

In the evening i will place so delicately

your fingers to my lips.

We will be safe, together.

Am I making sense?

Whatever.

Instead let's talk about

our secret hopes and dreams.

Mine are quite dusty,

and ripping at the seams.

You could inspire me to live again;

perhaps find my magic muse again?

How silly and so selfish of me;

To place upon you the burden

of such responsibility!

You know what?

Forget it.

We're better off alone.

Maybe next year, we'll both have better luck.

But seriously?

I mean seriously,

I don't give a f**k.

I had a moment like this earlier on!
I love the introduction to you..........and all the uplifting things that could be if he so choose....
And the end of course, the uncaring well, f**k you, and its not a responsibilty to be loved and want love............great catchy piece.........I expect Valentines day provokes alot of thoughts.........

I hate Valentine's Day propaganda. It starts in late December, for Christ's sake. Just when I'm trying to recover from all the Santa propaganda, they throw Cupid and his naked bum on me. It's painful, you know? Single people need a holiday of their ownlike

Single Persons Day!

Cool poem. I like the cynicism. Good work.

Ah, Valentine's Day...just another way for big stores to make more money...

I loved this. It's kind of, uh, cynical...I guess...

God, I'm awful at reviews.

Really enjoyed reading this. I think we all have our own ideals of love and how valentines day should be. Sometimes it is not worth the hassle. lol. I think it is nice tho to get a lil special something from someone special.

here's my thing about valentine's day. it is romantic to be forced to be romantic? if i'm romantic on my own, then i being romantic; if i'm doing it out of some sense of obligation, then i'm just doing a chore. i know that is a rant and not a review, but there it is.

I wasn't expecting to be so laid on the table and raw.

My favorite line. Kind of sad too. Like all your hopes and dreams have been put on the shelf by someone or something. Like something happened in your life and now everything has been put on hold.

Love this very much.

Wow what an array of emotions. I must admit though, I don't believe your last line. The search can be so lonely and painful yet the reward is priceless, providing we can find the prize. Another great write, but then again you pieces always are.

I really liked this. I think it was a great read and so fitting for this day of days. You are always such a pleasure to read. I liked the way this started of softly alluring and so inviting and then it got into the grit the truth of something more than a fluff how'd do. The lines held wisdom and truth in them that seeped from somewhere a little deeper inside yourself than i think you realized and by the time it was all said and done you were left with a great piece of something almost like a self releasing volume of the real you. You say you won't win any awards for this one I think you are underestimating your words here. I found perfect and a true pleasure to witness.

Great Job!!!!!

Oh Kara! I am a dead set soppy romantic - but do sometrimes stray into the dark side sometimes, but this,
this little gem of yours - i love it.

Self talk, one sided conversation aside - I think we all know at least one person this should be sent to - I know I do!

The beginning is great, an invitation --- then comes the reality check.

I loved the overall tongue in cheek approch, the hopeful tease that it might work, the crunch time.

My fave lives are

"Instead let's talk about
our secret hopes and dreams.
Mine are quite dusty,
and ripping at the seams."

so many of us have shelved our dreams and those dreams ARE ripping at the seams.

A good write, and I got a giggle from it - thanks.

I love this one! It's wit is fabulous. It's an easy read - it's a funny read, and it has more depth than one would think at first. Who hasn't gone through such moments in deep conversation with ourselfs?! Very well done. I like it very much.
