I had a moment like this earlier on!
I love the introduction to you..........and all the uplifting things that could be if he so choose....
And the end of course, the uncaring well, f**k you, and its not a responsibilty to be loved and want love............great catchy piece.........I expect Valentines day provokes alot of thoughts.........
This is too funny....yet still speaks of what commercialism has done to us all. I've always found Valentine's Day to be perhaps the cruelest of holidays....because even those surrounded by good friends and family can find themselves feeling left out in the cold if they do not have that significant other in their lives - when you add in the ceaseless advertising that one has to encounter everywhere - well, it becomes a cruel and heartless joke. I loved the transition from the meeting and introductions...to almost a rejection and a who care's f**k you ...great job!
Ok Kara this is amazing... it is extremely funny and yet really shows how a holiday like that can put pressure on those who are alone... you captured that desperation and the extremes some would go to that void.
I'm a student of psychology,
but there's a million things
so very wrong with me.
this here is my favorite lines... don't know why just find them so whimsical.
Anyways love the whole thing again but i always love your work.
Valentine's Day was created as an excuse for women to harass men into buying them boatloads of chocolate and flowers.
That statement may seem sexist, but take a look at the numbers. More men buy stuff for their women than women buy stuff for their men. It's a big conspiracy!
well what can i say ,this is great ,first trying many ways to introduce yourself ,and you think its all silly, and then talking about your life and dreams ,asking him to put life into you,yes dear so many times i thought we are all dead, its not enough that we claim o be alive ,and then you ask the poor fellow, something impossible ,for i think, its very hard to be alive, among so many dead people walking around, well there is great imagination here, great work ,you have drawn a great picture in just few words
Oh dear oh dear this phrase no matter how many time i hear or read or say it never never never never never gets old so i will take this time to say
i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k i don't give a f**k
A perfect description of the frustration a single person feels around that time of the year. I never really understood the point in Valentine's Day. The cynic inside me says Valentine's Day was created so companies could some more money after the hellish whirlwind that is Christmas
Terrific manipulation of events. I love how we can see the character reasoning, back and forth, and the conclusion is "I don't give a f**k." This is humurous, to me, (I hope that's what you were going for) because you direct the reader one way then go the other, that and the voice seems upbeat. My favorite lines, I think:
"I'm a student of psychology,
but there's a million things
so very wrong with me."
Nice! I get the mental picture here of a speed dating cafe where my potential date is wearing a name tag that says "Hi! My name is CRAZY!" Such a fun little piece here, and one that gives a great metaphorical middle finger to Hallmark and their heart shaped cards.
I think you should get an award for this one. It made me smile, afterall, and that's the best thing to say about any piece of writing. :)
I am resolved to never be content with the lives of "quiet desperation" which so many of us lead, to continuously challenge myself, and forever walk in Beauty.
I like pandas. I like writing poe.. more..
