SeekingA Poem by Kara Emily KrantzIn the evening’s whispers, I seek you. only to find you.
I find you pressed against the treebark of my words. Entangled in the curves of my roots. Leaning into the light of my--
Why do I know you in this intimate way? I scratch it, but it won’t go away.
Seeking, searching, finding, exploding.
We are stars seeking homes against the vast darkness of the night.
If I asked you to hold me tight, would flowers blossom at our feet?
Moisture seeps into the earth and I feel how you nourish me.
Why do I know you in this infinite way? I put pressure on it, but it won’t go away.
I seek you in the deep remnants of memory, but you are new to me.
You are new to me. You are known to me. You are shown to me.
There is a place amongst the trees for people like you and me. Look - can you see? I will meet you where the seeking meets the sky.
