the hazy way

the hazy way

A Poem by Kara Emily Krantz

If I’m torn apart, it’s only by your gaze.

The hazy way my eyes perceive while you’re around -

The corners of my vision a blur.

My body leaning perceptively towards yours,

as if seeking solace in your embrace; as if laced

by intoxication, as if, deep down, I’m shaken

and stirred by you.

As if I’m more than just a silly girl to you.

As if maybe, right in this moment,

I mean the world to you.

The slightest touch moves through me like vodka in my veins

I’m holding the reigns but seem to have no power to steer

Not when you’re around,

No, not when you’re here.

Been too long since I read a poem from you... and what a poem it is... very intense... love the analogies, especially

The slightest touch moves through me like vodka in my veins
