the is-ness of it all

There is something here.

Here within this ever-present moment.

Here in the space
-between-
our heartbeats.

The very is-ness of the present
reminds me of its impermanence
-of my own personal transience-

his lips upon my neck
my mother's arms while I cry
sun spots shinging through the hazy winter sky.

I'm reminded to forget the world,
and notice life.

Curl my toes into the soil
and breathe.

I'm reminded that there are still
all these moments
inside of me.

Ohh... I like this.
I love the concept of the moment between heartbeats. Makes me think of the Buck 65 lyric 'In a moment between heartbeats I'll set fire to the sky'
We all have so many moments left inside us to be lived.
I also enjoyed the selective rhyme just in the right places.

isness, as i can ration it here, is the qaulitative state of "is" or the time of the present. An interesting thought, and i think that certainly is fitting for this poem, and the many things that one can think of all in in an instant. Beautiful language use, and very expressive. A deep read!
