What a lovely little poem! Good thing I've subscribed.
"I wish that one's memory could turn back the days."
^ I wish that all the time. It's wonderful to hear it out loud.
This was me a year ago:
"I came here to rearrange
the pieces of my mind
-turn them over-
one at a time
and whisper them
away."
I don't think I've ever read anything that sits as close to heart as that stanza.
Thank you thank you thank you.
oh, my god , how do you do that. i have really missed your writing. what a return. you stand alone in the "speachless" department. since, you have been gone i have been reading a ton of poetry, books, mags, websites, here in the cafe, you just put them all to shame. the honesty and simplicity of the words and the complexity of the emotions these simple words stir up. it's profound and explosive. i am humbled by your return.
I came here to rearrange
the pieces of my mind
-turn them over-
one at a time
and whisper them
away.
i could write about that stanza for an hour and still only scratch the surface of what you wrote here.
A dewdrop quivers at the edge of the sky
why the hell couldn't that line be mine! if you ever publish a collection, that is would make a great title!
I had such a delicate image running through my mind of deep sadness........trying to gather ones self while being one with nature........
wanting to rearrange your mind, whisper away hurt........I could be wrong, but thats how I read this very beautiful touching piece.
Delicate as that dewdrop that hangs from the sky... I find that this piece has a very subtle way about it, a quiet and beautiful demeanor. "I wish that one's memory could turn back the days."...I've thought about this as well, I've wished this and imagined this. You are very poignant in your way of thinking. Delightful piece, Kara!
So many snapshots of the past.
I would love just through the process of remembering to be transported to a beautiful peaceful place.
Somehow, though I know I would be there and not appreciate it for what it is... Like now.
Life is always more wonderful in retrospect.
You have a poem here that captures this vividly. And as usual, you close with such incredible imagery I can't help but wonder how deep that heart goes...

I am resolved to never be content with the lives of "quiet desperation" which so many of us lead, to continuously challenge myself, and forever walk in Beauty.
