Still A Girl

Still A Girl

A Poem by Ainsley B. Kidd

She didn't think she was beautiful
she thought she was
ugly
because she couldn't pass as a
girl
she still looked like a
boy
people still called her
butch
drag
f****t
everyday she hides in her room
to cry
she's been treated so badly
she can't remember the last time someone said
I love you
they'll never know how much she
tries
so hard to look like her
true self
everyone told her to act like a
boy
they don't understand
they'll never understand
she struggles
everyday
to fit in
she just wants someone to realize
that she is a
girl
she doesn't realize that she is
georgeous
like a butterfly
I want to tell her that she is
so beautiful
so precious
so delicate
yet
so independent
so strong
so fierce
no matter what.
