To a Little GirlA Poem by Sapphire Balasquezadvice for one so lost.
"Keep your feet planted,"
He says,
"even when they feel like uprooting themselves
Keep your shoulders back-
But relaxed,
Keep your head up
Don't stare at your feet.
Feel the wind blow
But don't fall over
Keep your balance.
"When I say 'when times get hard'
You will take it lightly;
As lightly as a feather
That's been traveling the skies
For as long as you've been alive
But as soon as times get hard
Everything seems impossible
Like a purple elephant
Like a green sky…
Like broken promises…
"Try not to quiver at a tornado,"
He says,
"You don't need to, you can handle it
You are a rock
You are a stone…
You are a tree…
"And now I'll say it:
When times get hard,
Peel off the skin of misery
And leave it behind...
Your roots are planted…
You don't need nothin'"
