Indifference

A Poem by Sanzabar

Smoking a cig on the couch
House engulfed in flames

Walk out the front door
Mow the lawn
Lite another cig
As it burns

The smell of something important
Senses inside awaken
Jolted in the head
Thoughts...
It may be too late

Rush to grab a hose
To put out the flames
Eyes burning
Seeking anything salvageable
The Fear of loss gripping

Everything will be fine
I hope
I've got my hose...
How did I not realize
Things where this bad
How...
Did I not realize
