Bleeding Heart Cadaver

Bleeding Heart Cadaver

A Poem by Derieux

Burden myself with obscuring lies
To bend these envious intents, these slights
Of no more deadly an affliction as to love

Oh Love! This caricature of malcontent
Deter ambition, Destroy me!
For what is left is but an echo of the Destitute

For Body, how am I not to loathe thee
You, you frame of bone and flesh
Only fear for the ravages of a violent world
That shatters, scars, and plagues

Time, is your keeper as is mine
Fortune smiles to you that live, but one life
But each beat, I beat, is another dreaded lifetime

That, I, against my will beat life through your chest
So I may continue each new bout of misery

I scream silently for it all to stop
With each new pulse, breathe these arteries of agony
I scream, and I scream, as I wake and as I dream, I scream
And pray, that mercy finally lay me to rest…

Those are some powerful lines and words. The words you choose and the expressioning you phrase them in make this a very intense poem full of emotion, raw pain. It's a beautiful tragedy.

Most tell me my poetry is vulgar, or filled with too much dark humor. But honestly I have not prescribed myself to any particular genre. I write from my own experiences and influences whether it is mu.. more..
