On the shores of mayA Poem by Derieux
We stood gazing, helplessly, across the sable sea Stars that shone. Oh so bright upon the midnight sky We held close as not to lose ourselves, To this coming tide, as waves beat against the shore. Each one, a dream, to ripple beneath our feet For the moonlight that danced across the sea A song, we gave breath to - our lasting melody Of the felt press, beside this bliss, To savor each warm caress, and each felt kiss By stars that shine now on a passing sky Where motes of light, cried joy and rained from these skies As one heart, we kissed to the morning sunrise Overwhelmed, yet still, our hearts beat again for more Until the night, subside - gave way To rest these eyes and forever dream- no more
