Lights

Lights

A Poem by L. Sans
"

A poem recalling a car crash

"

Lights

Green light.

Bright lights.

Crash.

Slow time.

Screeching metal.

Burning rubber.

Putrid stench.

Shattered glass.

Spinning once.

Twice.

“I love you!”

Crash.

Face smashed.

Knee burned.

Chest slashed.

Flashing lights.

Bright lights.

White light.

No light.

As someone who has been in a car crash, I can honestly say that this is so powerful and thought provoking. And the lovely thing is that you didn't even need to use a lot of words to get it across. I really, really appreciate and applaud this work of yours. Very well done! :)
