THE DREAM OF..............

             Asima: A  middle  aged  mother

A proud mother of two achievers

One in medicine , one an engineer.

Both have topped in their institution.

Yesterday, both were off to their respective destination.

Far from home, far from nation,

One in Sydney, another in Houston.

So what! Asima's dreams have fulfilled,

As a mother she has succeed,

            Doing all her motherly duty

So she came with flower and sweets,

To offer her devotion to the deity.

Suddenly the bells rang in the temple,

              As a strong air blew,

And lamps in her hand quivered ,

While deep in her heart she knew,

               Her fulfilled dreams

Led to the end of a blind lane.

Nowhere to go, nothing to gain.

              When children. leave their parents,

Just with a feeling of a lone insane.

           Anuj:  A  struggling  bachelor.

           Being the third among four,

Anuj thinks himself a lovelorn lour .

The eldest brother is jewel in the crown.

Like a rich cream on a bread toast brown.

Best in academics, with well earned bucks,

Meant to be always at the center of focus.

The second one, an athlete, is very good in sports.

Dinner or lunch, the lion's share,

Is always his right for his effort.

Mum's apple of eye, and a job waiting,

Surely in a railway or a port.

The youngest sis, so stupid and moody,

But no one dares to mess with her,

'Cause she's the darling of Daddy.

Only the odd one in the family is Anuj.

Like a convict in the court,

Under the glare of  a judge.

Anuj daydreams of a worthy wealthy life,

            Full of self esteem.

            With a chauffeur driven car,

And the girl of his dream

A villa with lovely gardens, and a green lawn.

All of a sudden his dream vanishes,

            At a loud sardonic frown.

Dad's cold eyes say it all.

Actually Anuj is a good  for nothing,

            Meant to be always

At every ones beck and call.

.

Urmila:  A  struggling  model  turned  actress

           Walking on the red carpet,

Down the aisle leading the dais,

A slender beauty with dreamy eyes,

Is seen to aide the genius.

Urmila , a young beauty and although good as a performer,

She has to be a social coquette,

Rather than being shy and sober.

Nobody seems to notice a talent,

           Hidden behind her obsession.

Her dream to reach the stardom,

Is a path full of friction.

The rustle of the glittery gowns around,

The branded shoes and purses, the styles so profound.

Ignites the dream of a commoner like her,

Who still has to cross high hurdles,

           Of her luck and endeavor.

          Rajdeep:   The  only  rich  successor

Nothing to lose in life for Rajdeep,

He is born only to gain.

The successor of a great empire,

Never he faced the woes of life,

         Never he feels the pain.

But a phase of realism came one day,

While he was coming home from abroad last May.

A book of poetic phrases in hand,

His eyes soaking the nature's beauty of his native land.

He decided to become a poet or a painter.

         The B-school foreign degrees,

Now meant not so fine and fair.

"A poet or a painter! is a stigma, a cause of poverty!"

Roared a father, "We are the ones who flourish the country."

"You have to follow our progenitors progeny,"

" You are the heir who's born to make money."

After a few months later, in a lavish office room,

Raj unmindful, scans through a project file,

His heart filled with a gloom.

When he becomes the father, he thought,

He'll never shatter his child's dream, he vowed.

His every single wish will be fulfilled,

No pride and prejudice, only love will be bestowed.

Maya:  The  ballad  of  a  desperate  wife

Maya, standing in front of the oval mirror,

Devoured in her beauty, burning like an incense,

          In a decorated censer.

Her dewy eyes, her luminous forehead,

          Crowned with locks of cloud.

Her flawless skin, a perfect smile,

Like pearly lace through a rose bud pout.

Her ivory limbs embracing a sensuous figurine,

So very meticulously so far maintained.

But all felt so meaningless, all seems in vain.

          "Oh! mirror, mirror..........

All my efforts of devotion and provocation,

           Are my life's greatest error."

She's just a social status for her high ranked husband,

With many an admirer but without a true friend.

Miserably lonely she dreams of a lover,

Who'll love her with great passion,

With an endless romance lasting forever.

At a social party once,by chance,

She came across a lost love tune, close to her heart.

She turned and saw an intense look,

Playing the soft tune in his guitar.

She was carried away like a magical charm,

How her heart craved to leave all aside,

And to run away with the wanderer.

She felt so desperate, she managed to do what she wanted.

She was actually running away, leaving all the riches and luxury,

           With her new found lover.

How she longed for those intense passionate looks,

And the love tunes played just for her like tales in fairy books.

But fairy tales just don't happen really.

The car driven in a reckless panic,

Toppled down the edge of a high way,

            And blasted down to ashes.

Maya found herself in a white room of a hospital.

Her half burnt body aching with pain.

            She cried and sobbed violently,

Oh! how she loathed her body so ugly!

Suddenly two consoling hands held her tightly,

And spoke to her in a soft tone,

"I'm always with you my darling,

I love you, not just your beauty!

My passion for you is deep in my heart,

That can't be seen, nor heard!"

Maya went home, holding her husband's strong arms.

          Sujoy:     The  happiest  of  all

Sujoy is always so joyful and jolly,

For his nature he is loved by all, in his alley.

A happy go lucky rickshaw puller,

He seldom gets time to be a dreamer.

He is content with what he earns today

,        without even caring about the next day.

He is content with his wife, who's deaf and dumb,

And their two kids who're their helping hand.

Every day he pulls various travelers,

From rich to mediocre and also some poor vendors.

He hums and whistles, while pulling his carriage

To drive away the strain, whilst be summer , winter or rain.

He always try to work harder and manage.

        Sometimes heavy, some goes far,

        Sometimes light, just strolling yonder.

He never minds, he never argues,

He's always willing to help the needy, and guide the confuse.

One day he came across a small gathering at the roadside,

An accident occurred before a few moments,

And as usual the culprit was out of sight.

All were so very busy, no cars stopped,

No one dared to take the risk and feel bothered.

The young boy was bleeding, and the mother wailed for support,

Sujoy jumped out and took them in his rickshaw with his utmost effort.

He raced with all his might, to reach the nearby hospital,

He pleaded with the doctor to do the essential.

He gave them all his possessions,

But still there was some complications.

The boy suffered a major injury in his  abdomen,

Which damaged both his kidneys, could be fatal any moment.

Sujoy took no moment to decide,

The blood group was the same to coincide.

Though the doctors warned him ,

       Acknowledging his profession,

But Sujoy was glad to donate his kidney,

       For nothing but self satisfaction.

Sujoy can't pull a rickshaw nowadays.

He is the owner of a tea stall,

With the rescued boy at his aide always.

The story of his bravery created an inception.

The happy smile on his face,

Is always some ones conjuring concession.
