And the hawk must have an unerringly nuanced guidance system to soar BETWEEN all those snowflakes. ;-)
Haiku is always so palate-refreshing in its radical simplicity, and of course nothing conveys that better than a bracing winter scene of sky and snow and hawk.
Thanks for the smile-inducing and exhilarating visionary moment, Sandy. ;-)
A great haiku , the picture of the twisting hawk's flight into the snowy sky. Hawks love the snow when prey is easy to spot against the white so it adds to the realism of the moment.
I think you bring the vision to life in essence, the imagery has an eternal scope metaphorically, to ponder the flight for creative freedom, solitude in dynamics, this is a painting in words

I agree it is always great to see something new from you... you have such a gift of saying so much in these little poems... a brilliant way to describe the isolation you can feel in the coldness of December.
Well Haruki, I am always glad to see you post new works. I think this is a lovely Haiku. For 3 lines of poetry you really capture the momentum of nature in winter. You have a keen eye for the often overlooked and I think you did a marvelous job with this. This is truly picturesque.
I have so little time these days to write. I come to read your work and to be inspired. I may not have the time to post my own work but I look forward to reading yours. Please send me read request .. more..
