The World

The World

A Poem by Haruki

Quiet morning

Sitting in the room,

You're still sleeping.

Outside the window

Grey mottled clouds

Fill the sky.

Church bell chimes

In the distance.

Suddenly a stream of sunshine

Breaks through the cloud cover

And brightens the world

For a few seconds,

Then gradually fades.

I wonder if you stirred;

You are my world.

Again, you exhibit that exquisite simplicity, like the atmosphere's change after a cleansing rain.

A principal loved-one is indeed the world. And beyond that, the freshness of a new breath of life, and the poignant mystery of clouds in the sky, of light streaming.

Even when you don't do the formal 5-7-5 haiku syllables, you retain the shining intuitive clarity.

Excellent!

I love this as well as the thought behind the wording, the sweeping imagery,
the blissful emotional projection of love, the creative sentencing has
moving effect, romantic, passionate, embracing and very well written.
