Papilionaceous

Papilionaceous

A Poem by Simone

I just wish I were happy again
Happiness is something we all take for granted
it comes and it goes
It always feel temporary
I sometimes wish I could feel like myself again,
but truth is...
I don't even know myself
I've become infatuated with a version of myself
I have yet to meet
I look at my reflection and
I'm greeted with an empty void
in place of my heart
Lord, who am I
who have you called me to be
I'm constantly fighting between my
spirit and my flesh
Unable to decipher whether I
want to live for the world or for the Lord
but, my heart is starting to become heavy
So Lord, if it's my heart you want
take it...
