A broken boy

This is from school...we had to write a poem after looking a picture.

He was broken 

He was abused 

He never knew how to love or to be loved 

He was hurt

Scarred by his father's constant beatings 

He'd lay on the beach wondering if he could stay in such sweet serenity 

His body becomes numb 

He's completely shut out the world

His body so warm and bruised 

Suddenly becomes cold..

He couldn't fight anymore 

He wanted to become like an angel 

float away or fly 

A broken boy doesn't suffer anymore 

How would you survive?

I wonder how that picture looks like.Your poem is quiet emotional . Your lines of your poem is very precise.Its almost feel like real experience. Every detail is moving at my head. I like that line with a angel . I think everyone wish to flew away from they painful experience. End is also very good if is this question for each reader. I really don't have any answers. All my wounds I try heal up at my writing and other form of arts. Very good poem I feel connected to your words.

I wish i could find that picture again. I did use personal experience because I wanted to convey more depth to my poem. I'm glad you liked my angel reference because sometimes it feels like the best option. We also kind of relate when it comes to healing our wounds with writing. It's a great way to release emotion.
