Separation

Separation

A Poem by Sam

Smiles mean everything...
Contradiction to my pain,
Their hands in mine,
They are my hands,
Their sweet embrace
Fleeting, temporary...
And then... and then...

Pain, black, tears, alone.
Broken, self loathing...
I brought this on myself.

Perhaps one day,
We will awake
And have forgotten...
The pain and tears
And truly smile,
Embrace each other
Without the fear
Of separation.
