I Am Cain

I Am Cain

A Poem by STurner

I Am Cain

Shimmering seductive light dances

Upon cold gray walls of stone

Voices slash the silence, broken

Razor sharp, thunderous shouts

Harsh words pass between us

Abruptly ends the storm outburst

A sickening crack

A dull hollow sound, a ripe melon bursts

Blood splatters

Raindrops in a scarlet deluge

Dark stains that mar Sacred Art

You are dead

My heart within me dies too

And I, Cain, am forever marked

My people eternally damned
