I need a guide

I need a guide

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

Guide me through my life,
Won't you take me to the place,
The place where eternal life is granted,
Look not on my worried face,
Look not on me with disgrace,
Guide me through the jungle of confusion,
Guide me to your solution,
The buzzards try to eat me alive,
The animals pounce and scratch my skin,
The birds pull my hair,
But yet we trek on,
Our destination looms overhead,
To the fount of eternal life,
Blessed is he who believes in such things,
Blessed is he who guides,
I put complete trust in you,
To lead me through the snares and toils,
Protect me and never doubt me,
We've made it! There is the fountain!
Oh blessed water running true,
Heal my ailments, bless me!
Holy water from God above,
I bathed in your eternal redemption,
Old blessed water flowing from the side of God,
Exclude me not from your eternal shower,
Bring me into your full and brace,
The fount of God's eternal Grace.
