Coffin of Oak

Coffin of Oak

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

Climbing to that evergreen tree,
I'm hoping that there's a tree too see,
When last I saw that sacred bark,
My younger character made an ark,
You called me here to see to ignite the spark.

Laying in your coffin of oak,
I swear I heard you when you spoke,
Standing above coffin so deep,
To dig to you would be too steep,
If I could hug you I would,
But that would do me no good.
