The Heavenly Shore

The Heavenly Shore

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

Watch me fly through the eternal sky,
Watch we fly, oh watch me fly!
I'm gone beyond what you can see,
I'm higher than you could ever be.
I'm above the clouds and the stars,
I'm above your boats and your cars.
I'm beyond space and time,
Stay on Earth, don't try to climb!
I'll see you someday,
You'll come here to play and stay.
Don't worry - I found my way,
I'll be watching you forever more,
No more cancer, no more being sore.
I'll be watching you learn and grow,
Remember to reap what you sow,
The amount I love you, you may never know,
I know your progress will never truly slow,
Keep climbing to reach the summit,
Take my hand, you'll never plummet,
We are all waiting for you here,
Let the Lord take control, let him steer,
You'll be here soon enough,
Looking over the heavenly bluff,
The Earth below is fading fast,
This bluff is made to last.
